75/25 going to be there, just with the beetle though this time. Only thing I have out is the Alfa with 200 miles on a fresh rebuild so far. Not driving that 600 mi this weekend!

Have purchased most of the bits I need. Going to put in the wrenching time this Friday and Saturday weather permitting, and need to get AAA gold just in case. If the car runs I'll probably take it.

Cool! I have a metric assload of shit I have to do on the BMW to get it ready in time. I've been putting it off all week due to the weather and me preferring the option of sleeping after I get home from work. If I can't get it to where I feel comfortable taking it I'll bring the merc again.

you do have more experience working on 80's German metal than a majority of my friends.
Can you translate German to English, back to German and then back to English so I will know what parts of my car will kill me, and what parts will kill me faster than those other parts that'll kill me?

yeah theirs a lot of ATCHUNG's all over my car to.
I think the only German tools I have are whats left of the tool tray in the trunk. I've been lucky that a majority of the bolts are 8mm, 10mm, and 13mm just like every ford product ever built in the history of history. I basically did the whole trans swap with just 8 10 and 13's and a few wild card sizes for the big bolts.

Off the top of my head
Hydroboost belt
Diff cover + fluid
Carrier bushing
shift cable
swap out the ///M grille for the non ///M grille
swap out the wiper headlight rings for the non wiper rings
Thats what I remember off the top of my head. then I have one of my friends coming over saturday so I can wire up grand marquis corner lights on his vic.
I'm trying to remember, aren't you in NY now or are you still in NJ?

ya'll gonna learn today!
Hydroboost systems don't have a vacuum assist brake booster. My power steering and brakes run off the same system which is powered by a belt driven hydroboost pump (basically my power steering pump). It also has a nitrogen gas filled brake pressure accumulator which is there for emergency braking because the pump can't react fast enough. (On BMW's this has been nicknamed the brake bomb because if it dies your brakes go to absolute shit.) Hydroboost systems are really popular in low vacuum engines and in offroad vehicles. It was a really unnecessary yet ahead of its time design choice by BMW to run a hydroboost system on the e23 7 series.

I just spent the night removing a ton of hack wiring on the bmw and replacing the snapped shift cable. Have plenty to wrap up tomorrow but it looks like I'll be taking it to CT.

Rumor has it tomorrow is Ferrari day. Doesn't make sense to me, since usually they only do special days for certain events. For example, Shelby day after Shelby died. Beats me!
I'm 100% sure I'm going now. Can't wait to see everyone and hopefully the Bimmer!
